Maximus & Marcus
The Mountain, the River & the Lion
In this book, the first of the series, Maximus meets with Marcus the wise owl who is more than happy to help Maximus understand himself and the world around him. This book aims to teach ideas on strength and the importance of kindness as written about by the roman emperor and stoic philosopher, Marcus Aurelius, nearly 2000 years ago.
This book is fully finished and ready for the first major print run as a hardcover. See the Kickstarter page where you can find out more and make a pre-order while supporting Maximus on his journey!

Maximus & Seneca
On Happiness & Courage
The second book of the series, Maximus meets with Seneca the goat who is eager to explain to maximus that he'll be happier in life once he learns to be grateful for what he already has, helping him to understand that challenges are easier to approach if he changes the way he views them in the first place. All themes that echo the lessons taught by Seneca the Younger.
This book is in the final stages of development. The story has been completed and all sketches are ready for colourisation and overall proofing / editing. It is expected that this book will be available to the public in early summer of 2026.

Maximus & Zeno
On Nature & Speech
In this, the third book of the series, Maximus meets with Zeno the tortoise. He wants to give Maximus a tour of the forest as he teaches Maximus about the relevance of a persons connection to nature. After Maximus takes a tumble, Zeno takes the opportunity to tell him that tripping with the feet is preferable to tripping with the tongue as he encourages him to think about how the way he chooses his words must be careful and considered. All this is in keeping with the teachings of the man hailed as the father of stoic philosophy, Zeno of Citium.
This book is written and sketched out. Due for release by late summer of 2026.

Maximus & Epictetus
On Decision & Freedom
In the fourth book of the series, Maximus meets with Epictetus the Ox to accompany him on his delivery route for the day. Epictetus encourages Maximus to consider empathy while explaining the importance of working hard to achieve our dreams, touching on the importance of avoiding the natural impulse we all have to worry about things that are outside of our control.
This book is fully written and sketched out. Expected for release before winter of 2026.
